Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII offers various preparatory and diplomatic game-play elements that take place ahead of combat, known as the Civic Development system. Offering players the chance to improve different aspects of their domain, this system allows the development of Commerce, Farming and Culture, which give various boosts to the army in both strength and loyalty. Economic and development decisions made are then presented to the Officers, prompting them to share their views, and point out the merits and faults of a given strategy before the player makes a final decision.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII will launch in North America on July 5, 2016 for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and PC via Steam®.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII offers three bonus scenarios to players who pre-order the game through select retailers, including GameStop, Amazon, EB Canada, and Best Buy: the exciting The Battle of Red Cliffs scenario, in which fan-favorite character Cao Cao has captured Jing and is preparing his attack upon Sun Quan’s Yang Province; the ambitious Thirteen Heroes scenario, which follows thirteen chosen heroes who will gather together to compete for control of the land; the dramatic Punitive Expedition to Lu Bu scenario, in which Lu Bu has successfully tricked Liu Bei to gain control of the Xu Province, but Liu Bei and Cao Cao have joined forces to reclaim the land. Those who purchase the game via the PlayStation®Store within the first month following launch will receive Punitive Expedition to Lu Bu scenario.
